How to play Loose by Daniel Caesar
Start with the chords. Loose uses 8 different chords; Ab is held longest — about 20% of the song — so it is the one to make comfortable first. 8 of them need a barre (Db, Gb, Fm, F); with a capo on fret 1 they become C, F, Em, E, Dm, A. If barres are new to you, read the barre guide or the capo guide.
Then the changes. The change that repeats most is Eb → F (6 times), followed by F → Ab (6 times). Drill that pair on its own before the song: the chords change roughly every 3.3 seconds (18 changes per minute), so each change needs to be ready in plenty of time — this is a relaxed song. See faster chord changes.
Strumming. At 136 BPM this is a fast song; a good starting pattern is D U D U D U D U (eighths, or the classic pop pattern in half time). Play along with the song and land your downstrokes on the kick drum. More in strumming patterns.
Practise with the page. Turn on lyric mode and loop the chorus; play the loop at a slower tempo until it is clean, then at full speed. The song is in Ab; if it sits wrong for your voice, use the transpose buttons — see transposing.

Easier substitutes
- Instead of F, try Fmaj7: drop the barre and leave the high E string open — it rings almost the same in most songs.
- Instead of Bb, try Bbmaj7: a partial shape on the top four strings, no full barre.
Swap one chord at a time and play along; if it still sounds right with the band, keep it.
